Project Description

The Study on Homicide of children (age 0-5) in Germany is based on data from all cases identifiable in Germany over a ten-year-period (1997-2006). The primary source of data are court files. On the basis of findings derived from the files we conduct interviews with offenders an representatives of juvenile social services. Key areas of interest are:

  1. Phenomenology of homicide of children
  2. Causes, triggers and risk factors
  3. Proceedings in the criminal justice system
  4. What follows from all of the previous for prevention?
